We are organizing a candlelight vigil for the victims of the July 5th Xinjiang riot, on this Friday, July 17th, from 8 PM to 9 PM, in the Pioneer Memorial Park near Mountain View downtown. We sincerely hope you can join us. Bring your own candles, or candles and cups will be provided on site free of charge.
By lighting a candle for each of the victims, we want to cherish the lives of these Han, Uyghur and Hui Chinese citizens who died in the terrorist attacks on and after the evening of July 5th, as well as to mourn these men, women and children who lost their lives in such an unspeakable horror. Let us condole together, to pay our respect for human life, to extend our sympathies and blessings to the dead, wounded and their families; let us join hands, to show our unreserved support for peace, unity and sovereignty of our motherland; and let us never forget, by raising awareness of the truth and endorsing all efforts to hold the terrorists accountable, because justice is the only remedy for the wounds that tear us apart, and only by justice will we again unite as one to prevent this sort of tragedy from ever happening again.
